Wool prices slightly easier

British Wool Marketing Board released fourth British Wool Sale reports. Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,696,356 kilos.

With a larger volume of wool on offer at sale, demand was spread across all types with prices slightly easier.

The clearance was 68%.

Compared to the last time sold:

• Best Pick and Supers Firm, Cast up to 2.5% cheaper
• Halfbred Hogs Buyers Favour, Wethers 2% cheaper
• Cross Hogs Firm, Wethers up to 2% cheaper
• Radnors 1.5 - 2% cheaper
• Welsh 3% cheaper
• Swaledale - the first offering of 2011 Season Wool sold well

A farmer run organisation, the BWMB was established in 1950 to operate a central marketing system for UK fleece wool, with the aim of achieving the best possible net return for producers.
