Crossbreds had a steadier week without the large day-to-day changes seen in the Merino wools. Their average MPGs were generally down for the week.

Oddments prices eased on Wednesday and came back sharply on Thursday.

Buyers for China were dominant followed by buyers for India and Taiwan.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 52,584 bales are currently rostered for sale. The present estimate for the following sale (Week 24) is 47,140 bales; a decrease of 0.4% over the two sale period when compared with last year.

The New Zealand Merino Company is rostered to offer 1,250 bales in Week 24.

In South African sales, the Cape Wools Indicator was up by 4.5% since last week when the Rand appreciated by 1.3% against the US Dollar and by 1.7% against the Euro. 10,969 bales were on offer.
