Pleasing sales in Aussie wool market

Skirting types eased on Tuesday, but came back strongly on Wednesday and Thursday. Crossbred types were generally down on Tuesday, but also came back strongly on Wednesday and finished on a firm note on Thursday.

Oddments had a mixed week, with movements in both directions between the different wool types. There Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) Merino Cardings Index was down by 6¢.

Buyers for China were dominant followed by buyers for India, Taiwan and Europe. Sales will be in recess next week and resume in the week commencing 9 January. Sales are in recess in South Africa until 11 January.
