China's woolen textile export volume declines in Jan-Sept

From January to September 2012, China’s exports and imports of woolen textiles totaled US$ 12.483 billion, registering a decline of 3.08 percent year-on-year.
 
Woolen textile exports fetched US$ 9.158 billion during the nine-month period, showing a dip of 3.06 percent year-on-year, while imports registered US$ 3.325 billion, down 3.10 percent year-on-year.
 
Among woolen product exports, nearly all categories registered negative growth in volume. Export volume of woolen woven garments, woolen sweaters and wool top fell by 17.19 percent year-on-year, 17.64 percent year-on-year and 31.27 percent year-on-year, respectively.
 
However, volume of exports of woolen fabrics increased slightly by 1.05 percent year-on-year during the period under review. The volume of woolen blanket exports from China also posted a positive growth.
 
In terms of value, China’s large-scale wool dyeing and finishing enterprises registered exports worth 18.261 billion yuan during the first three quarters of the current year, up 6.14 percent year-on-year.
