Aussie wool prices marginally up 1% last week

Skirtings prices fell on Tuesday, along with the rest of the market, but were mixed on Wednesday, before moving up across all types when the market lifted on Thursday. Movements in crossbred MPGs were slightly behind those for Merino wools.

Oddment prices moved in a similar way to other wool types, down on Tuesday and Wednesday; but generally up, or slightly down on Thursday

Buyers for China were dominant, with support from buyers for, India. Buyers for Europe were noticeably quitter last week.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 46,340 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales (Weeks 44 and 45) are 44,655 and 44,900 bales, respectively; an increase of 19.4% over the three sale period when compared with last year.
