Fashion demand has helped Mohair market in growing with new records reached during the second summer auction this month.

On March 14, the auction saw the Cape Mohair and Wool indicator touching a record average of R88.12 per kilogram.

This is a 4 percent improvement over the previous auction, and 95 percent increase over the last year.

CMW Mohair Manager Pierre van der Vyver attributed high prices to strong demand for mohair yarn.
