Quality wool steals the show at Sydney, Melbourne markets

Sale of quality ultrafine wool in Melbourne and Sydney were the only bright spots in an otherwise clearly disappointing week in wool market.
At Sydney sales high price of 65, 500 cents per kilogram was paid and the bidding was dominated by Italian buyers. Meanwhile, the eastern market indicator was at 737 cents, down two cents per kilogram clean.
Next week will see offers of more than 65, 000 bales which will include 5, 000 bales from New Zealand. Numbers are expected to remain higher in the coming weeks.
