Due to dark fibre contamination in wool sold through Australian auction rooms, German company Sudwolle is going to purchase greasy wool directly from merino producers.

Company processes 200,000 bales a year, which is equivalent of 10 percent Australian wool clip, at a mill situated in China, Germany and Poland.

Director of Sudwolle, Gotz Giebel told that because of quality problems and to encourage growers for better qualities this step has been taken.

On trial basis company is buying wool from an Adelaide firm which sources wool from small group of growers.
