The first provincial-level wool textiles test station of Guangdong located in Dongwan city will provide services, which can match the standards of Europe and America. This will prove helpful for the local woolen textile exporters.

The test station has advanced equipments worth 4.8 million yuan and the authorities have planned to invest another 10.24 million yuan in the first two years and further about 5 million yuan each year will be done for another five year.

Presently, the test center can examine around 78 items. It has two standards of testing; first one match Chinese criteria and the other one is for European and American standards.

Guangdong Government has taken this step of setting up this test centre for a stable development of Chinese wool textiles industry after encountering technical trade barriers from many countries.

Statistics show that 60 percent of the local production of woollen textile is exported in the international market.
