SGA is a sophisticated database with one million Merino animal records that allows direct genetic comparison of individual animals across different flocks on the database. SGA is the national genetic evaluation service aimed at improving the quality, scope and reach of genetic information for the Australian sheep industry.
First established as a subsidiary of Australian Wool Services in 2001, Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) became a fully independent public company limited by shares and owned by Australian woolgrowers in 2002.
