There have been little currency changes in the last one week, due to which price movements in wool have been more so to do with supply, said, New Zealand Wool Services International.
It said, “Compared to the previous Christchurch sale, prices of different varieties of mid-micron fleece rose by 1-9 percent and quantities were, considering that the season for that category is nearing its end.
Prices for fine crossbred wools also moved by up to 9 percent, a result of renewed Chinese interest and also due to limited supply. However, coarse carpet wool prices fell by 3 percent, as seasonal supply peaked.
