MLA & AWI to deliver reliable genetic information to wool industry

The success of SGA will depend on the adoption and utilisation by stud and commercial breeders of genetic information in the form of quality assured, credible and accurate Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs).

Mr Donges stated that the aim of SGA is to give Australian sheep producer's world's best technology, enabling them to remain internationally competitive. Information sessions about Sheep Genetics Australia are being held around Australia from November through to February 2006. The sessions are aimed at existing users of genetic services as well as those interested to find out more about SGA.

The first three to be held in November are as follows:
21 November - Armidale Ex-Services Memorial Club, Armidale 9.30am-2.00pm

28 November - Charleville Motel, Charleville 9.30am-2.00pm
30 November - Launceston RSL, Launceston 9.30am-2.00pm
