Josh Goot is taking his collection to a fashion show in New York in January.

He added that he would love to help get Australian Merino wool and Australian made fashion into leading stores in the United States.

AWI Fashion Communications Manager Melissa Grace stated that Josh's innovative use of jersey fabrics made him the ideal designer to showcase the attributes of Merino wool jersey. She added that leading and innovative designers such as Josh are key influencers and also have an enormous impact on trends in the mainstream retail brands, so there is significant potential for increased use of Australian Merino wool.

Research & development organization Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) is that works with woolgrowers, researchers, processors and manufacturers. The company's activities are financed from Federal budget allocations and wool industry levies. The Federal core allocation to AWI in 2003-2004 is around $14 million.
