Hollywood fashion designer Oliver Tolentino was the first-ever designer included in Global Green USA's annual pre-Oscar party last February 22 in Hollywood where he showcased eco designs and dressed Hollywood actresses in his native eco fabrics.

Tolentino, with support from the Philippine's Fiber Industry Development Authority (FIDA), presented woven eco fabrics made from the fiber of pineapple leaves (piña), abaca (Manila hemp), Philippine silk, and one outfit featuring new fabric made from water lily & jute, at the Hollywood party attended by celebrities.

Nine models wore Tolentino's long gowns on the “green carpet” during celebrity arrivals and then mingled among guests, including in the VIP area where guests paid $1,000 a ticket.

Past Golden Globe nominated actress EMMY ROSSUM (“Phantom of the Opera,” Showtime's “Shameless,” & “Day After Tomorrow”) and actress MAGGIE GRACE (“Taken,” “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” and TV's “Lost”) wore Tolentino's eco outfits among the party guests which included celebs Adrian Grenier, Dylan McDermott, Johnny Galecki, Josh Radnor, and Michelle Branch. Sheila E performed.

Rossum wore a yellow balloon skirt with bustier underneath a sheer top, all made from naturally hand-dyed and hand-woven fabric from pineapple leaves, abaca (Manila hemp), and Philippine silk. Her top was accented with rosette cut-outs embellished with fresh water pearls. By morning, Rossum's dress was an internet sensation with fashion blogs noting “Emmy Rossum steals the limelight in yellow.”

Grace wore a salmon Grecian-inspired, draped bodice cocktail dress made from naturally hand-dyed and hand-woven fabric from pineapple leaves and Philippine silk. By next morning, her look also was featured on many fashion sites.

Tolentino had so impressed Global Green with his designs at its “Gorgeous & Green” event in San Francisco they invited him to exclusively show at the 9th annual pre-Oscar party. The charitable organization counts Leonardo DiCaprio among its board and fights for “green” causes in the U.S. and abroad.

On March 31st, Tolentino will present a 50-piece collection as the first-ever featured designer at “San Diego Woman's Week.”
