Gaurang says the collections he has etched for the winter season will bring back the classic 1950 and 1960 look. His designs will highlight heavy kanjeevarams instilled with classic kalamkaris which he is confident will be a real treat for the fashion lovers.
It is a complete drift from the modern expression Gaurang expressed. He believes fabrics like silk and bright colors can be adorned with heavy jewelleries and for occasions like marriage as well as other social occasions blending perfectly with the winter season mood.
The colors will range from red, pink, orange and yellow. The kalamkaris are also getting a whole new different design appeal as Gaurang will use only 2 colors in each piece rather than the usual multicolour kalamkaris. The motifs are all derived from animals in big bold patterns.
The five-day fashion extravaganza starts in Mumbai on 3rd August. One of the rising names in the Indian fashion industry Gaurang will showcase 19 of his classic hand-woven collections, weaved with sophistication to capture the vibes of the coming winter season on August 5, which is the Indian Textile Day at LFW.
Gaurang is the only Indian designer this season, who was invited to showcase his in Lavera Showfloor at Kosmos in July 5, 2012 during Berlin Fashion Week which is one of the biggest eco and sustainable fashion show in the world. He presented 24 of his unique outfits and patterns using Indian handloom fabrics of khadis, kotas and organzas exhibiting the finest of jamdani weave and parsi embroidery.
