Ashley Pecolia Green, founder of Ashley P Designs, was always intrigued by the fashion world, but didn't pay much attention to it until one summer afternoon at the age of 7 years old she watched the Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen's film, Passport to Paris and one scene in particular piqued her interest.

They made a blue spaghetti strap dress, decorated with flowers, and inspiration struck instantly. As soon as the ending credits scrolled up the screen, she hopped up and attempted to create a similar dress out of paper, tape and markers. At the time she thought she had created something special, but she really discovered her passion.

As a new Muslim, she discovered that it was difficult to find clothes that were eloquent yet concealing, especially during the spring and summer months. That’s when she got an idea. Ashley decided that she would regress back to her passion for fashion, bringing her old ideas of creativity and innovation with her new ideas of conservative wear, in a collaborative effort to create a new category of fashion for people who want to dress stylish and eloquent, with modesty.

AP for Women is a fashion line of modern modesty wear for women, consisting of clothes that cover the body; arms, legs and cleavage. AP would like to create clothing that is affordable, luxurious and yet comfortable for the typical everyday modern modest women. The label caters to everyone, not just religious women. All are welcomed, none rejected.

Ashley Pecolia will present her collection in this year’s Plitzs New York City Fashion Week February 2013 hosted by PLITZS Fashion Marketing. Her collection will be presented at 5:15 PM Friday February 8th at the W Hotel in Midtown NYC. In case you can’t make it to the Friday show AP will also be featured at Small Boutique Fashion Week February 10th at the prestigious Metropolitan Pavilion on Sunday February 10th at 8:00pm.
