Vera Wang, the internationally renowned bridal couturier, has finally abolished the US$ 500 appointment fee which she has been charging from her customers for a 90 minutes dress try-on-session at the designer’s recently opened Shanghai boutique.

After facing a huge global outcry for being partial as the surcharge was only applicable in her Shanghai store, the bridalwear queen decided to scrap off the exorbitantly high trial fee.

According to Reuters, the substantial fee was only meant to discourage counterfeiters and ward off shoppers who were not serious about buying her sumptuous wedding gowns.

Known for specializing in a wide range of haute couture bridesmaid and wedding gown collections, the 63-year-old American designer had opened her first ever bridal boutique in China’s Shanghai city in January this year.
