Textile fashion designer Zandra Rhodes will present at 'The Magic Flute' at the San Diego Opera in May 2006.

By popular demand, The Magic Flute, with gorgeous costumes by Zandra Rhodes, will be performed at the San Diego Opera in May 2006!

With rave reviews and sold out performances at its debut in 2001, now is your second chance to enjoy this glorious opera.

The final opera written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, The Magic Flute is filled with fantastic and mythical characters, perfect for Zandra's exotic and beautiful creations.

Mozart wove a magical fairy-tale layered with mystic symbolism that will keep you fascinated! Equipped with a magic flute watched over by Three Ladies, and guided by Three Genii, Prince Tamino sets out on a quest to rescue – and win the love of – beautiful Princess Pamina.

Accompanying Tamino is his new friend, the bird-man Papageno, outfitted with magic bells and on a quest for a bird-wife. Together they enter the realm of the great magician Sarastro who challenges them to a series of trials to prove their worth. Will they win their hearts' desire?

Zandra Rhodes was one of the new wave of British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s. Zandra designed for the late Diana, Princess of Wales, and continues to design for the royal and the rich and famous around the world.
