After going into administration twice in last two years, the Melbourne-based fashion label Bettina Liano Pty Ltd has once again entered into liquidation.

The fashion label has decided to wind up its Au$ 10 million a year generating business due to stiff competition from international labels invading the Australian market, as well as local manufacturing issues.

The 24-year-old brand, owned by its eponymous designer Bettina Liano, went into administration in September this year.

The closure of the label has added to the woes of Australian fashion industry, which presently is struggling to stay in a market flooded with foreign labels.

In the last few years, leading international brands like Gap, Topshop and Zara have opened major flagship stores in the country and new entrants like Muji, H&M and Uniqlo are set to open their stores over the next 12 months.
