Jason Campbell Crawford, 35, founder of the highly publicized fashion label and co-founder of the design house Insidious Fix, is scheduled to face trial for his alleged role in cannabis cultivation case and for another charge of having received stolen property to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Crawford attended an Auckland District Court hearing on August, 24 in which he maintained his innocence but accepted that he had a prima facie case to answer.

He was arrested after a premise housing his Insidious Fix label was raided by police who described the operations “huge and sophisticated” with more than 200 plants unearthed.

On the other hand, his lawyer described the charges not major and blamed police of framing his client.

The label had featured in last year's Air New Zealand Fashion Week as Crawford and business partner Kylee Davis took curtain-call on mini chopper bikes.

Clothing label, which is 11-year old, entered the fashion when Crawford and Davis were studying textile design at Auckland Institute of Technology, and won the prestigious Benson & Hedges Supreme Fashion Award in 1995.
