Her label Affascinare has already made a name on the way to make itself a homegrown fashion icon and she is none other than Meher Mirchandani, an Indian who made it possible with the help of her childhood friend Riddhima Wabhi.

They were friends from school, studied fashion design from American University of Dubai (AUD) together and went on to become business partner as well.

Meher backed her AUD degree with training in Fashion Design at the American Intercontinental University at London in June, 2002 and after that she was back in Dubai to launch Affascinare with her friend and partner Riddhima.

Riddhima has won 'Swarovski Best Young Designer Award' at Bride show 2001. She belongs to a designer family with her paternal aunt Indira Mankani, a fashion designer herself.

The progress of her brand Affascinare has been steady with the initial supply to selected boutiques in Dubai like FAE, and then they eyed Indian retail stores. Their latest feat is the tie-up with Mumbai se which is a Singapore based chain of boutiques through which they intend to reach Far eastern market as well.

Meher's favourite material includes silk, chiffons and she likes to experiment with appliqué, pleats and draping in her designs. These designs are having plenty of colours like mithai pinks, bright turquoise, saffron and purple. Silk, ribbons and lace have been used along with mixed fabric sourced from India, China and Dubai.

Their current collection consists of slim-fitted quilted tops, tee shirts, trousers, tunics, dresses, skirts of different lengths and trendy jallabiyas.

They say that their heart belong to India bur their soul is Arab.
