Fashion Week will commence from February 2, 2007. Budding designers dream of taking a bow at the end of their runway show, but this feat does not come easily.
Designer Jacqueline Lorette, a fresh graduate, runs her own fashion line Jacques Lorette from her apartment in Lower Manhattan. Her line features a collection called 'Sinfully Silky'.
She has been struggling with her business since last year. Her unique hand-painted T-shirts sell like hot cakes and her work adorns the pages of fashion magazines.
Another promising designer Wenlan Chai is reaping fruits of the seven years of her efforts. She has made a name in knits and prints with her company Twinkle, which employs ten people now.
Her hard work during last seven years will be rewarded once again when she takes a second bow this year at Fashion Week in Bryant Park.
