Legendary Hollywood designer Edith Head's three beautiful gowns were featured on the show.

A silver beaded sheath worn by Janet Leigh in 1960, Elizabeth Taylor's stunning gown of 1970 and cream-colored strapless, embroidered dress which Edith wore at the 1959 Academy Awards during her 15th costume-design nomination.

Other everlasting creations were presented by Carol Channing's rhinestone-encrusted 50 pounds dress from 1968 and a champagne tulle dress designed by Arnold Scaasi worn by Mitzi Gaynor in 1967.

Designer Cher received applauding for becoming one of the most innovative Oscar red-carpet winners.

Charlize Theron displayed two gowns on the runway. The jeweled nude sheath she wore when she won best actress for "Monster" in 2004 and other ice blue tulle dress from the following year.

Julia Roberts' black-and-white vintage Valentino dress from 2001 created quite a stir.

Halle Berry's embroidered burgundy gown from 2002, when she won award for Monster's Ball was also presented.
