Christian Lacroix début his haute couture range in Houston on Tuesday at the John and Becca Cason Thrash villa.
Christened 'La Grande Nuit', this show was organized by Lenny Matuszewski.
The collection inspired by the spring season offered floral flowing gowns, tiered and ruffled skirts and jackets with prominent sleeves in rosy reds and vibrant blues, matched with pale pink footwear and perfect hairdo.
However, one creation that stole the show was black gown with a detachable silver-studded corset that once removed, revealed a cheery little lace cocktail dress.
Embellishments included intricate hand beading, designer hand-painting and unique embroidery, with signature Lacroix flower somewhere on the dress.
This show, a part of American Friends of the Louvre benefit program, generated over US $500,000 that will be used to restore the 18th-century decorative-art galleries at the Louvre.
