The sentiment of elegance is a style that comes from the heart, reflected not only in the clothes a woman wears, but in the way she moves, lives, and communicates. The Autumn Winter 2007- 2008 collection draws its inspiration from “Indochina” and “The Lover”, to present the new woman from RoccoBarocco: a modern interpretation of big-screen icons from the '40s.
Rigorous and refined, combining strength of character with the intense femininity of a woman's veiled fragility.
Orientalism and colonial sobriety: fortuny stile fabrics, with prints, mélanges, monochromatic embroidery and lacquering, all illuminated by shimmering details in bronze, lead and steel. Beiges and blacks dominate the collection, alongside opaque black that captures and reflects the atmosphere around it.
The most advanced technologies create garments that embrace the body without constraining it, while strong cuts add fluidity and grace to movements. Skirts accompanied by low-necked tops and pullovers, at times very low yet covered enough to reveal a sensual harmony with a new modesty.
The silhouette is defined by drainpipe trousers in stretch satin yet left soft and flowing and even draped over the hips. There is a delicate balance between lengths: short, waist-cut jackets, or extra-long almost three-quarter length worn over calf-length skirts or the everlasting sheath dress.
On top, wool crepe overcoats and trench coats printed with Chinese or Decò symbols, but also embroidered jackets to be worn all day. The evening sees dinner suits and georgette dresses with mélanges, embroidery and unexpected cuts, the high point of the collection.
Accessories bring a touch of visibility to a purposely discrete look: high heels for low-cut, sequin dresses, or black or gold half-boots; leather bags are draped in lacquer or breschwanz.
