Kolkata-based designers Swapan and Seema after displaying light flirty garments last time are busy putting finishing touches to their creations to be showcased at the upcoming Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW) later this month.

“Our creation for this year's WIFW is for the young and trendy who want to have fun in life. We have called it the Mystery Chic as it's a fall-winter collection and winter has an element of mystery with the sun setting more quickly and the nights becoming long and foggy,” says Swapan.

“It will be a fusion collection and the silhouettes will be flowy and voluminous. The collection will have a very regal look to it as we will be using a lot of gota work on it,” he added.

The duo also plans to use lot of net, besides silk and stick to dark colours like beige and black to add a mystery element in their collection.

“The mystery woman is someone who is sexy without being too obvious. She does not reveal all of herself and holds something back. She is beautiful because she is mysterious,” is how the duo would describe their muse.

The designers claim their designs are doing well from other stores like Silons in Birmingham, RCKC in London, Attache in New York, Raaz Collection in Chicago and Ota Sadako in Japan and demands from stores abroad like Yasmin in San Francisco and Sanskriti in Hong Kong do come in for few of the creations they showcased last season.

“The domestic market has a huge potential at the moment and the profit margin by selling here is far better than by exporting our clothes abroad. We have been doing exceptionally well in small cities like Indore and Raipur, where people have a lot of money and are willing to spend on designer clothes,” he states.
