NEW DELHI:
Fashion designers Meera and Muzaffar Ali will be staging their Autumn-Winter preview in the Capital.
It is all about one model and one coat. Meera was present for the preview and she talked about her coat and since this one garment is actually her entire collection it has to be versatile.
“My winter collection is about the quilted jacket,” says Meera Ali.
The long and quilted coat by the designer flares towards the bottom and is alternated with black and colourful plates.
“There are several colours of fabric that are coming together and I have mixed it with a black because I wanted to have a long, perennial look,” says Meera.
“You can wear the coat with a jacket, a sari, even a dress. So the coat is the defining statement,” says Meera.
The ragged edges may catch your attention and think that it is careless tailoring, Meera clarifies, “I have purposely worked on the edges of the fabric because I want a frayed look.”
The coat may look as if it is from your nearby handicraft store, but let us wait for ramp collection before we draw any conclusion.
