Council of Fashion Designers announces nominees for 2007

Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards for the fashion industry are supposed to be the most prestigious rewards, equivalent to the Oscars, is going to take place on June 4 at New York public library.

CFDA has announced nominees for this year.

Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs and Lazaro Hernandez are nominated for the Womens wear Designer of the year Award.

In the Menswear Designer of the Year Award section Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Steven Cox have been nominated.

Pierre Cardin will receive The International Award.

Designer Ralph Lauren will be honoured with the first ever American Fashion Legend Award for giving his forty years to the industry.
