Malini Ramani's collection hit the ramps this year and the lady's 'Indiva in Transition,' came out of the closet and her usual mirror works and garish tones were replaced with a far darker and more somber colour palette: chocolate, caramel and gold mingled with greens and purples.

Vallaya, Shantanu and Nikhil, Rina Dhaka and Gudda too are going dark this summer. Not necessarily dull, the maroons, pinks, greens and blues are falling in tone proportion but teaming up bulky, beaded and metallic accessories to turn Gothic.

Textile Consultant, Deeksha Suri, adds. "The fresh, nautical, marine look is in this season. From your neutrals in the mornings to dramatic rust, whites and blacks in the evening; summer 2007 is all about more emphasis on cuts and style than on colour."

"Tan leather is making a comeback. The grip is broad, beaded, glimmered with stones and full of colour. Gold has made its royal return as well. And you need to jazz up all your outfits with a tinge of the orbic hue," Deeksha further adds.

"We're bringing the retro back. And what a time it is to make a debut when the world is turning grey," said Chauhan.

"Whites in tunics with bold prints and crazy contrast in fabric with trimmings and lining teamed with printed chocolate belts is the thing everyone will be sporting this summer," said city-based designer Simrita Jauhar of Originals.
