Melvin Sokolsky bags 1st ever Judith Ripka Visionary Award

On Tuesday, October 16th from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm, Judith Ripka, Official Jewelry Designer of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios hosted an elegant reception celebrating the week long Bubbles and Baubles Exhibit and Auction being held onsite in the VIP Green Room at L.A. Fashion Week.
A select group of fashion photographer Melvin Sokolsky's exclusive Bubble Series photographs were paired and displayed with complimenting Judith Ripka jewels.
In addition, the famed jewelry company was thrilled to present the first ever Judith Ripka Visionary Award to Mr. Sokolsky for his many years of ground-breaking talent in the world of fashion photography.
"I have been a huge fan of Melvin Sokolsky's work for many years. He has always been, and continues to be, a pioneer and true visionary in the world of Fashion Photography," states Judith Ripka, CEO, The Judith Ripka Companies Inc.
Judith Ripka indulged guests, who included, Davis Factor, Melvin and Beryl "Buttons" Sokolsky, David Fahey of the Fahey/Klein Gallery, Peter Levy of IMG and actor Rex Lee, best known as Ari Gold's trusted assistant Lloyd on HBO's "Entourage", with delicious dessert treats from the ultra hip L.A. Restaurant Ammo. The signature Ripka drink of the night was the Pomegranate Martini which was an instant hit.
Supporting LA Fashion Week's "green friendly" theme, an original Sokolsky signed photograph entitled, "School Window", and an elegant piece of Judith Ripka jewelry, "the Estate Necklace", 18K, Gold and Diamonds with Mint Green Quartz will be auctioned off on eBay for the following ten days. Proceeds will benefit the environmental organization Earth Pledge.
