Regardless of the changes that take place in the fashion world, sari is something which has always been in fashion. Suneet Varma, an Indian designer who has been experimenting with this purely Indian costume, has designed a 55 metre long and 45 inches wide embroidered sari.

This sari is an exemplar in itself not just for being the longest ever embroidered sari, but also for the time taken by the designer to design the same. He took just 10 weeks that is 26,400 hours to be more precise, to design this sari while working in association with eight designers and 55 artisans.

The 'Limca Book of Records' has also recognized the efforts of the designer and has registered a record in his name for designing the longest ever sari, which was a pleasant surprise for the designer.

This unique sari will cost Rs 8,85,000. The sari made out of silk-georgette material has been dyed in various colours like orange, yellow, red, lime green, cobalt blue and fushia pink, and has a border of three inches embellished with silk brocade and satin patch work.
