Christophe Decarnin, star designer of the 66 year-old French fashion house, Balmain has left the company.
The company made an official announcement in this regard recently.
Decarnin's departure is the next upset that the fashion industry witnessed after John Galliano quit Dior.
It is becoming evident that, the premium fashion houses are now getting more interested in preserving their own brands, rather than in encouraging dynamic luminaries.
Predictions regarding Decarnin's departure from the fashion house started developing since the very start of March this year, when the designer did not remain present at the fashion house's ramp show during the Paris Fashion Week.
Though the company has yet not revealed its plans, it is highly likely that, someone from the existing design team would most probably be appointed in place of Decarnin.
Decarnin joined the fashion house in 2005 and introduced the label to a younger group which included several French luminaries and powerful editors, who were attracted by his rocker-chic vision for the fashion house, which at that point in time was considered to be a conventional couture house.
Nevertheless, his designs were even slammed for their excessive prices, like $6,000 for a pair of jeans and $2,000 for T-shirts, which even was a reason for conflicts between the designer and the fashion house's management.
