Roland Mouret launches autumn-winter collection for 2011. The idea of modesty and subtlety; a new proportion that explores an innocent sexuality.

A play on volume, with a mid-calf to ankle length that understands the hidden female sensuality beneath.

Clothes are cut with volume to enhance the movement of a woman, walking down the street, bringing the fabric to life – creating memories.

The notion of a woman in a city, leaving behind, in fabric, the trace of her scent, the memory of movement - like a perfume.

Draperies worn beneath an intriguingly cut trench or a svelte bomber jacket; an olive jersey twinset worn with cropped trousers, marled knits and furs layered over a beautifully cut dress create a sensual, understated, modern elegance.

The evolution of a new femininity is expressed with contrasting yet complementary masculine elements, conjuring up Woody Allen's New York of the late seventies and early eighties, when he portrayed his heroines as 'strong and full of power' - i.e. Diane Keaton's Annie Hall.

Also referenced is a nineteen year old Lady Diana, silhouetted against the sun in her pale see-through skirt worn without a slip, challenging social expectations.
