RSGBL to develop modified starch for textile sector

Riddhi Siddhi Gluco Biols (RSGBL) is planning to produce a special starch that will be used in manufacturing improved and fine quality cotton cloth.
Technology for this project will be provided by French company, Roquette Freres, which recently acquired 14.95 percent stake in RSGBL.
Currently, Indian textile companies are importing cotton fabric from Italy.
Ganpatraj Chowdhary, MD, RSGBL, informed that all the technical assistance and knowledge to make modified starch would be acquired from Roquette Freres.
Company is planning an investment of around Rs120 crores for new projects, of which about Rs110 crore is allocated for maize processing in North India and the remaining will go to the production of modified starch.
Total turnover in 2005-2006 was around Rs250 crore and is expected to rise to almost Rs325 crore during 2006-2007.
