In a bid to improve the technology applied in powerloom sector, the Coimbatore based Bharathiar University is contriving to use plasma technology.

Engineering science has corroborated the efficiency and adaptability of this plasma technology. Therefore, the university has decided to implement it to enhance the functioning of loom components.

The Alumnia-Tatania coating under this technique reduces the effects of constant friction and prolongs the wearing-out of machine parts considerably.

Besides, this plasma covering will also add longevity to the machineries by substituting oil lubricants with solid coatings. Weavers at Somanpur were instructed about the application of the plasma technology and were also given a thorough demonstration of the coated machinery components.
