RMG sector to get software developed jointly by EC & EWU

East West University has been selected by the European Commission along with the University of Bremen, Germany and Universityof Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, to develop softwares for the Ready Made Garments Sector of Bangladesh.
Titled CACDFM (Computer Assistance to Clothing Design and Fashion Management) the project has a two year long duration ending on 31st. December 2006.
Partly funded by the European Commission and partly by the participating institutions the project will be led by the University of Bremen while East West University along with the UMIST will have the responsibility to develop the software need for the RMG sector of Bangladesh.
This project is first of its kind in the RMG sector awarded to any university in Bangladesh under the Asia-Information Technology and Communications Programme of the European Commission.
Professor Abdul Mannan, Dean of Business and Economics has been appointed the Project Manager while Syed Akhter Hossain, the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering will be responsible as the Technical Expert.
