Asia's biggest garment R&D center in Beijing

Beijing Municipal Government reported that that Beijing will erect biggest garment research and development (R&D) center in Asia.

More than two hundred modern buildings with shiny signboards of the world-renown garment brands will be rising at Changying, Chaoyang District in Beijing by 2007. The area will become the biggest garment R&D center in Asia by then.

According to the President of H.K.I Development Co Ltd Luo Zhaoming, the company is to invest 3 billion yuan to turn the area into a center of fashion and culture. It will also become a center of world garment enterprises' HQ, operation, demonstration and sales.

The R&D center, consisting of 200 buildings, covers 800,000 square meters. At present the design for the project is underway and the center is expected to open in 2007.

eBeijing is authorized by Beijing Municipal Government and organized jointly by Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Network Information Industry Office.
