Yarn output growth rate slows down in Feb 07

According to the data announced by the State Statistics Bureau yesterday, the production of yarn in February 2007 was 1.159 million tons, an increase of 8.7 percent over the same period last year. Growth rate significantly slowed down from the previous months, the growth also declined substantially compared with the same period last year.

In January-February, total yarn output was 2.601 million tons, an increase of 20.1 percent over the same period last year.

Cloth output in February was 2.92 billion meters, an increase of 1.4 percent over the same month last year. During the period total output was 6.43 billion meters, an increase of 11.3 percent over the same time last year.
