Recently, the Science and Technology Department of the China Textile Industry Association had organized the project appraisal meeting for the "Adoption of cold pileup dyeing method of yarn and thread" in Changzhou Jun Hong Dyeing and Finishing Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu province.

This innovative yarn dyeing technology has aroused widespread interest in the industry. The adoption of cold pileup dyeing yarn method, self-developed by Changzhou Jun Hong Dyeing and Finishing Co., Ltd., can reduce water consumption from 120-160 litres using traditional methods to 13 litres for dyeing one ton of yarn, thereby saving 90 percent water.

The project has obvious effects of energy- efficiency and emission-reduction along with good economic and social benefits as well as broad marketing prospects, since conservation is now the new mantra for development. The prototype of the project is in an advanced stage of development.

Average production costs using the current equipments, including water, electricity, dyes, wages and so on, is about 8500 Yuan per ton, while production costs of this innovative technology is expected to be in the region of 3,500 Yuan per ton, resulting in massive savings for each ton of yarn that is dyed.

Equipment investment in the new technology is projected to be about 15 million Yuan and it has the capacity to dye around 15 - 25 tons of yarn, based on 16 hours of normal working per day, while the investment in equipments currently used to dye the yarns is around 50 million Yuan.
