Island filament trend in Shengze market rose marginally in the previous week ended January 22, but trade volume remained stable. Island composite filament 105D and 225D closed at 16,000 Yuan / ton and 18,800-19,000 Yuan / ton, respectively at the weekend, slightly up from the previous week.
Sales volume of DTY215D island composite filament is strong, as it is blended with polyester DTY 75D/72F to produce woven weft suede. Along with meeting requirements of the textiles decorative fabrics, it is also used to produce men's and women's fashion fabrics.
On back of demand for woven weft suede, a lot of imitation products have cropped up in the markets, which does not augur well for sales of DTY215D island composite filament in the long term. Industry people believe that island filament market is expected to maintain in consolidation.
