Chinese yarn output ascends in 2010

China's yarn output registered 2.255 million tons in April, up by 16.6 percent year on year, while total yarn output completed 7.92 million tons from January to April this year, an increase of 18.7 percent year on year.

According to customs statistics, China textile and apparel exports achieved US $14.55 billion in April, up 16.5 percent year on year and in first four months of 2010, amounted to $53.8 billion, up 15.6 percent year on year.

In April, the average price of cotton carded yarn 32s marked 23,670 Yuan / ton, up 983 Yuan / ton, or 4.3 percent from the previous month; the average price of polyester staple fiber stood at 10,625 Yuan on / ton, up 261 Yuan / ton, or 2.5 percent compared with the previous month.

In April, the spread between standard grade cotton and polyester staple fiber in inland China stood at 5,576 Yuan / ton, expanding by 330 / ton compared with the previous month.
