Committee set up to regulate yarn prices

A nine-member committee was constituted by three trade organizations to regulate the prices of yarn in Bangladesh.

The committee consists of three representatives each from the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

A three-party meeting was held at the office of BTMA in Dhaka, where the members arrived at the decision of controlling the yarn prices. The BTMA will take all the required measures to limit the flare-up in yarn prices.

The committee will also take care of several other demands associated with the issue of curbing the yarn prices.
