Cotton yarn exports climb steeply in 2010

China's yarn imports and exports reached US $12.531 billion from January to October 2010, an increase of 34.61 percent year on year, according to statistics from Chinese customs.

Of which, export volume was 2.5552 million tons, an increase of 22.86 percent year on year and value registered US $7.029 billion, an increase of 38.35 percent year on year. The average unit price touched US $3.1/ kg, an increase of 2.6 percent, year on year.

In the same period, yarn imports recorded US $4.602 billion, an increase of 28.62 percent year on year.

Export volume of yarn reached 203,500 tons and value touched $681 million, down 4.4 percent and up 21.93 percent, respectively, year on year in October. The average export price stood at $3.35 / kg, up 27.54 percent.
