  • North India's cotton yarn market is reeling from the **%** US tariffs, forcing spinning mills and stockists to offer steep discounts. While yarn prices in Ludhiana and Delhi remained steady, Panipat saw a ₹*-* per kg dip in recycled PC and cotton yarn amid selling pressure. Market experts said the duty-free cotton import extension may cushion mills by lowering production costs.

Cotton yarn prices in Ludhiana did not show significant movement, though mills and stockists are offering deeper discounts. A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre2Fashion, “Spinning mills are under pressure to sell production. Therefore, mills are offering higher discounts on booking confirmation. Stockists and traders are also bound to sell cotton yarn at lower prices.” Traders added that cheaper cotton prices will reduce yarn production costs, which could improve export prospects to garment manufacturing countries.

In Ludhiana, ** count cotton combed yarn was sold at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (inclusive of GST); ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, respectively; and carded yarn of ** count was noted at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg today, according to trade sources.
