A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre2Fashion, "Spinning mills have raised their selling prices following the increase in cotton prices. Buyers showed interest in new deals despite the rise in cotton yarn prices. The local market noted an increase of ₹2 per kg."
In Ludhiana, 30 count cotton combed yarn was sold at ₹254-264 per kg (GST inclusive); 20 and 25 count combed yarn were traded at ₹244-254 per kg and ₹249-259 per kg, respectively; and 30 count carded yarn was noted at ₹234-240 per kg, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
A trader from the Delhi market told F2F, "Spinning mills have raised their selling prices. Consequently, market prices for cotton yarn gained ₹3 per kg. However, mills faced difficulties in selling at these higher prices, as the market was unable to absorb the total increase, resulting in average demand." In this market, 30 count combed yarn was traded at ₹253-258 per kg (GST extra), 40 count combed at ₹278-283 per kg, 30 count carded at ₹230-234 per kg, and 40 count carded at ₹255-258 per kg, as per TexPro.
Recycled yarn was traded at the previous prices in the market amid slow demand in Panipat. Traders said that recycled yarn demand from the downstream industry was very slow. A balance in demand and supply supported the current price levels. In Panipat, 10s recycled PC yarn (Grey) was traded at ₹76-80 per kg (GST paid). Other varieties and counts included 10s recycled PC yarn (Black) at ₹51-54 per kg, 20s recycled PC yarn (Grey) at ₹88-93 per kg, and 30s recycled PC yarn (Grey) at ₹133-142 per kg. Cotton comber prices were noted at ₹112-114 per kg and recycled polyester fibre (PET bottle fibre) was noted at ₹73-76 per kg.
North India's cotton prices steadied after last week's rise. Domestic cotton noted gains following the rise in ICE cotton. Traders said that the increase in cotton prices discouraged buyers from making fresh purchases, preferring to hold off on new buying. Today's arrival was noted at 15,000 bales of 170 kg. State-wise arrivals were noted as 2,000 bales in Punjab, 5,000 bales in Haryana, 5,000 in upper Rajasthan, and 3,000 in lower Rajasthan. Cotton was priced in Punjab at ₹5,500-5,550, in Haryana at ₹5,450-5,550, in upper Rajasthan at ₹5,350-5,550 per maund of 37.2 kg, and Bikaner line cotton was sold at ₹5,575-5,675 per maund. In lower Rajasthan, cotton was priced at ₹52,200-54,200 per candy of 356 kg.
