Ludhiana market witnessed better demand of PC yarn as manufacturing activity is expected to pick up for summer garments. A trader from Ludhiana market told Fibre2Fashion, “The north Indian market is known for PC garments for domestic market. Manufacturing of summer garments will now be on the rise. The expected future demand of PC yarn improved market sentiments. Mills and stockists have raised prices. But further increase in PC yarn will depend on retail demand in the coming season.”
30 count PC combed yarn (48/52) was traded at ₹190-202 per kg (GST inclusive) in Ludhiana, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro. 30 count PC carded yarn (65/35) was sold at ₹176-186 per kg. 30 count polyester spun yarn was priced at ₹151-161 per kg (GST inclusive) in the north Indian market. Surat market also witnessed upward trend amid better demand. Poly spun yarn gained ₹1-2 per kg on better demand. Traders said that the market is witnessing higher demand since last week of November. Viscose yarn also gained ₹2 per kg. 30 count viscose compact yarn (Local) was traded at ₹197-199 per kg (GST extra) in Surat.
In Mumbai market, viscose yarn prices eased by ₹1-2 per kg because of poor demand from spinning mills. Local ring spun viscose yarn was quoted at ₹187-190 per kg, as per TexPro.
Meanwhile, cotton prices remained stable in north India amid average demand from spinning mills. Weaker ICE cotton also dampened market sentiments in domestic cotton yarn. State wise arrivals were: Punjab 2,500 bales, Haryana 7,000 bales, upper Rajasthan 7,500 bales, and lower Rajasthan 7,000 bales.
