South Indian cotton yarn steady; mills eye discounts amid weak demand

Cotton yarn prices in Mumbai remained steady after last week’s decline, though demand from the consumer industry stayed negligible. Spinners are struggling to cope with the current challenging environment. A trader from Mumbai told Fibre2Fashion, “The market is not likely to see improved demand in the near future. But cotton yarn prices remained steady as polyester yarn strengthened following price rises in manmade fibre this month.”
