ESTHER CAÑADAS had escaped the wave of criticism against lean models, but her counterparts at Madrid Fashion Week, were not just lucky at that. The Association for the Defense of Victims of Anorexia and Bulimia said that most models were of size 34, that is about size 6 in Britain; but the organizers of the event denied it.

Spain's fashion industry has become the target of campaigners who say that the images it presents authenticates stereotypes and lead to cases of anorexia and bulimia.
