The Company has entered into an MoU with M/s. SHELL India Pvt. Limited on 5th September, 2007 for sale & purchase of products, primarily MS & HSD and sharing of infrastructure facilities, for a term of 4 years, from October'2007, extendable by an additional two years. Shell and MRPL will also work towards achieving a high level of performance on Health, Safety, Security and Environment issues.
The MOU signed with HPCL in July 2007, has become operational. MRPL has already started sharing the infrastructure of HPCL in Mangalore, Hassan and Devanagunti for loading of tank trucks.
Construction work in Maddur Retail Outlet is nearing completion and the Outlet is expected to be commissioned next month. The work for the remaining Retail Outlets in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, design work has already started.
The 3 Satellitedepots at Kasargod (Kerala), Hindupur (Andhra Pradhesh) and Hosur (Tamil Nadu), have already become operational and will cater to the Company's direct marketing requirement in the States of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The Company has received permission from Airports Authority of India for supplying ATF to the aircrafts, through mobile fuellers at Mangalore Airport.
The Licensors for 4 major units in respect of the Refinery Upgradation and Expansion Project (Phase III) at Mangalore have already been selected and design work has already started.
The Licensors's selection for the Aromatics Complex being set up by ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (OMPL), has been completed and design work had already commenced.
In addition, process packages are under preparation for the low cost revamp of the existing crude distillation unit and Gas Oil Desulphurisation unit (GOHDS).
