GPIC event theme: 'Think of Safety, Act Safely and Be Safe'

During the period from 23 - 27th December, GPIC will hold under the patronage of HE Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Advisor to HH the Prime Minister for Industry and Oil Affairs and GPIC Chairman the Safety, Health and Environment Week at the Company's Complex in Sitra.

The theme of this year's event will be "Think of Safety, Act Safely and Be Safe".

Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery, General Manager said this year's theme comes within the framework of the Company's policy of enhancing awareness among the employees of the standards of safety not only at the workplace but also in their own lives.

Jawahery added the event aims at consolidating the principles of safety, health and the environment in all the Company's operations and activities. Achieving higher levels of productivity is only possible through maintaining the safety of all workers of the Company. Safety, health and the environment are part and parcel of the Company's priorities since production coupled with these ingredients enables the realization of the goal of the high quality of products.

He further said the Company's observance of this Week is evidence that maintaining health, safety and the environment is the most precious asset for growth and progress of any enterprise. The Company has won already several awards from RoSPA of the UK and other international organizations in the areas of health, safety and the environment.

He noted that GPIC's concern with safety, health and the environment has been nicely rewarded by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The Company also received the Sir Earl George Safety Trophy which was a recognition of the Company's achievements in the areas of health, safety and the environment.

These awards and the Company's achievements are reflected in the efficiency of the Company's employees and contractors who carry out jobs for the Company, suppliers and vendors who do business with the Company.

Everyone believes that through the setting of difficult goals for us and for everyone doing business with us we will be in a better position to improve what we do and even to innovate hence we can excel in everything we do.
